Mag Fed you say????

So it has been a week since myself and my teammates were at the Magwell Shooter Games @Command Decisions in Taylorsville NC.  This was an event that was setup by Magwell https://www.facebook.com/MagwellPB and PsiOps / Milsig https://www.facebook.com/psiops.milsig.  The basic low down was it is limited ammo games, 5 VS 5 and either tac cap or mag fed markers like Milsig, Rap4, Tiberius ect...

This was the first time that I had a chance to use a Milsig marker in a game and I have to say it was awesome!  We played short objective based games like, attack and defend plus the attacking team was timed in eliminated the other team and planting a charge in the opposing teams bunker.

The first game we played we were attacking and we were able to take out the Op4 team and plant the change with time to spare!  Here is my vid of this match with my DRIFT HD cam

After this match we took a short break and then we switched up and we were the defending team.  We held the for down until the last 1 minute but they did a good rush and eliminated all of us but ran out of time to plant the charge so they lost.  Here is that video:

We also had an opportunity to do some Shooter Time and Accuracy Challenge that two players from each team got to go through a range individually to eliminate the main targets, plus there were bonus targets to get the best time.  The team with the combined best time wins.  In this competition the home team ODX came out victorious.

Here is the 1st place pistol champion from Team Boxer, Runaway the Valken Corp Southeast Regional Commander!

So to wrap up this was a very cool event and really opened my eyes to a different style of paintball.  Using limited ammo and especially mag fed is really a great experience and if you haven't tried it out yet you need to do it for a better Milsim feel and tactical play with you teammates.  I will be helping to promote the magfed movement in the VA / NC area and Trooper my co-captain in the Ontario area!

This is Spanky signing off for now......

Valken Corps pull of clean sweep of awards!!

Team WCP

This past weekend Valken sponsored players pulled off a clean sweep of the awards for the North Vietnamese side of Command Decisions Warfare Center’s annual edition of Vietnam Patrol: The Fall of Saigon, held in Taylorsville, North Carolina.

World Combat Paintball (WCP), based out of Lynchburg, VA with a chapter in Canada, joined forces with Team: Capital Offense as the NVA Special Forces unit. Their ability to take and control key points across the field was instrumental in securing the NVA victory and resulted in their being awarded a share of the Most Valuable Team award with TCO.

Wendell “Runaway” McInnis, the captain of Valken sponsored Team Boxer, out of Concord North Carolina, was awarded the Most Valuable Player award for his outstanding efforts as the NVA Executive Officer. Runaway’s primary duty was to ensure that the Commander’s orders reached the line units; which was made possible by the use of Team Boxers suite of Mil-Spec radios distributed by another one of their key sponsors Discount Two-Way Radios.

Josh “Joker” Justice, a member of Valken sponsored Team ODX, one of Command Decision’s resident field teams, earned Sportsmanship honors, supporting the NVA cause with unselfish play as well as a focus and dedication to the game that was an example for all in attendance.
Team ODX

This group of outstanding gentlemen, along with great teams such as TCO, ODX, Tango Alpha2, Boss Co, Lethal Paintball, Body Count, Carolina Mercenaries, Ronin, Rogue Cell, Recon-1, Wilkes Tactical, Wolfpack and a number of other great teams and individuals gave General Rich “RipperDoc” Singleton all the firepower he needed to pull off a victory in this last installment of Vietnam Patrol.

Congratulations to Team WCP, Boxer, ODX and all the other Valken Corps teams that played.

Team WCP was wearing Valken’s V-Tac Tiger Stripe gear. If your team wants to get sponsored, visitwww.valkenpaintball.com/sponsorship.php

Painted Forest in now Closed!

So our local field has been closed for good! Based on the economy and limited funds the owner has closed the shop and field so now we are on our own. There are a few fields within a 3 hour radius that we can play at but unfortunately we do not have a convenient place to just walk-on at any time. Hopefully we will find a local place to join up with but until then it's time to hit the road!

I just posted our upcoming 2011 events schedule here
